Golden Wax Beans and Fruffalo Wings

Hi everyone! The new recipe I tried this week was perfect for all the golden wax beans I’ve been harvesting. It’s really good and super simple to make (instead of the butter, I used Earth Balance to veganize it), and it went perfectly with the spicy “Fruffalo” wings from Field Roast that I found on sale. I’m definitely going to use this recipe again!

In garden news, I finally started harvesting cucumbers and blueberries (in addition to the snow peas and golden wax beans)…

Here’s my last flower sketch…

I’ve switched to fruits now…

And here’s Leela; she enjoys hanging out on the crinkly packing paper…

Peace. :)

  1. Love that you are getting produce from your own garden! I am terrible at growing things, though I have some herbs and I always feel super awesome when I get to cook with them.

  2. Hooray for fresh garden produce! It looks amazing and OMG those cucumbers would make the best pickles! I love the fruit sketches! I have heard that the Fruffalo Wings are a little odd because they use vegan sausage instead of some sort of chick'n sub. Did you find it odd? The meal looks great and you know I love sweet Leela!

    1. Thanks, Sarah; I'm actually going to be making a batch of pickles tonight! And yeah, the Fruffalo wings were a bit odd; I definitely would have preferred a vegan chicken version, but they were still good. :)

    1. Thanks, Jennifer! And yeah, when I saw the container of leftover beans in the fridge the next day, I thought to myself, "Wait, when did I make mac & cheese?" Haha! :D

  4. That is so cool to eat food that you grew yourself!!! I've never ha wax beans because the name kind of scare me, but yours look great!
I want to try the fruffalo wings!
I love the blueberry sketch! You are so talented!

    1. Yep, packing paper is a hit for sure! Leela loves laying on it (making it make the crunching sounds as she settles), while Cringer and Daisy like to "hunt" for pretend prey, repeatedly attacking the paper, haha! :D
