Wrapping up 2020

Hi everyone! Figured I'd get in one last post before the new year, so here's some of what I've been eating. It's mostly simple meals since I've been trying to use stuff up at home, but first are these sweet potato fries that I got as part of a grocery order from Kimberton Whole Foods; they were good, but so spicy!

Here's hoping for better times in (and out of) the kitchen in 2021. Who knows, maybe I'll actually break into some of the cookbooks I've gotten this year...

Some Random Goodies + Christmas 2019

Hi everyone, I’ve finally tried the vanilla bean dessert hummus with some pretzels, and it is so good! 

I’ve also been enjoying this chocolate that Zach got for me… 

And I tried this new-to-me vegan mac; I didn’t care for the pasta on its own, but once combined with the sauce, it was delicious!

Christmas 2018

Hi everyone! We got to have two dinners on Christmas – the first with my family, and the second with Zach’s family – and both meals were super delicious!

vegan chicken noodle soup

green beans (made by my mom); corn & mac (made by my sister); potatoes, cranberry sauce, and stuffing (all made by my mom); and a cheddar garlic roll, slice of Field Roast celebration roast, and agave-glazed carrots (made by me)

Dessert was apple pie with Soyatoo whipped cream, a chocolate chip cookie, and tea.

Zach’s mom prepared the second dinner…

Rogue appreciated the stocking full of toys (plus catnip!) from my family… 

Daisy and Cringer continue to cuddle… 

And Leela is enjoying napping on her soft new blanket!

Christmas 2017

Hi everyone! We had two Christmas celebrations this year, the first with Zach’s family on the day before Christmas. For snacks, we had Miyoko’s & Treeline cheeses with crackers; fruit; and tortilla chips with guacamole and salsa. Then we had orzo with roasted broccoli and tomatoes and some really good bread. Dessert was lots of vegan goodies, and the only thing I remembered to take a picture of! 

Christmas Day we spent with my family – we had a vegan chicken noodle soup (prepared by my dad) to start, then dinner…

For dessert, I had a peanut butter chocolate chip oatmeal cookie and a big piece of apple pie. I took a bunch of leftovers home, including a tin of cookies that I’m still enjoying!

Fitting with all this talk of good food, I got some pictures of the kitties “washing up” after eating one day. Leela, as you can see, take this whole business very seriously…

“What on Earth are they doing?”

…But Cringer and Daisy like to be as goofy and dramatic as possible when cleaning themselves up… 

Might as well have fun with it, I guess, haha!
