Hi everyone! Continuing with MiniMoFo's January theme of “new,” I tried another new recipe from another new cookbook. On Wednesday, I made the Lentil Sloppy Joes from Food52 Vegan by Gena Hamshaw; Zach & I enjoyed them on hamburger buns, with waffle fries on the side.
The leftovers came in handy for a quick late dinner on Thursday; my mom and I spent the day in Philadelphia at the Resistance in Philly: Fighting for Our Lives rally & march protesting Trump & the GOP who were staying at the Loews Hotel. The rally had a lot of great speakers, and then we marched, and wow, was it a crowd; the energy was absolutely amazing! I could go on and on, but suffice it to say, it was amazing and I am so glad that I went!

Orzo Pilaf (Mediterranean Vegan Kitchen)
Hi everyone! The new recipe I tried this week was the orzo pilaf (with peas, onions, and roasted red peppers) from The Mediterranean Vegan Kitchen by Donna Klein. It was really good & so easy to make; Zach enjoyed it, too. I already made it a second time this week; I know it won't be long before I return to this recipe yet again!
Also, we were in the area after visiting a friend on Sunday, so we stopped at Vegan Treats on the way home, and I got this cute brownie chunk cheesecake. (I always try to pick something new that I haven't tried before.) It was quite tasty!
Here's a sleepy Cringer...
Peace. :)

Homemade Meatballs
Hi everyone! I finally made homemade vegan meatballs! The new recipe I tried this week was the “Meaty Balls” from Vegan Vittles by Jo Stepaniak.
They were really easy to make and definitely tasty! Zach gave them a try, but he wasn't as much of a fan (but to be fair, he pointed out that he didn't like non-vegan meatballs, either).
Here's a photoset of Daisy being cuddle-squished by Cringer; Daisy didn't seem to mind too much.
Peace. :)

Amazing Mac 'N Cheez Sauce (Ultimate Uncheese)
Hi everyone! I hope the first week of the new year has gone well for you! January's MiniMoFo theme is “NEW,” so I figured each week this month, I would test a new recipe from one of the cookbooks I've gotten as gifts recently. I decided to start with The Ultimate Uncheese Cookbook by Joanne Stepaniak, making the Amazing Mac 'N Cheez Sauce, which definitely lived up to its name. Zach liked the mac & cheese, and I've already made it a second time for us.
Here's Buttons and Cringer getting in some snuggle time...
Peace. :)
