Cabbage, Chickpeas, & Rice

Hi everyone! Today's Vegan MoFo prompt is "Survival food," so I'm sharing a meal I made a month ago. One of my neighbors had given me a cabbage from his garden... I chopped it up and cooked it with a can of chickpeas and some white rice in vegetable broth, adding salt and pepper at the end. Accepting food from others is humbling; we survive together, and meals like this are good reminders.

Here's my Inktober sketch...

Here's a sleepy Leela...

And here's Buttons this morning in her cat bed...

...and then in her cat tower...

Peace. :)

  1. That meal looks delicious. Isn't it amazing how the simplest meals can be the tastiest?
Buttons is looking nice and healthy!! I couldn't be happier!

    1. Thanks! Simple meals really are the best; it's great when you can throw ingredients together for something delicious without needing to follow a recipe! :)

  2. Oh, I'm so glad I found you and your blog! I love your recipes, especially this one (I'm a cabbage-head), and I love your art. I'm a new fan! :)

    1. Thank you, Tracy; glad to have you here! :)
